In that time the category has gone from a plastic film you trimmed with scissors to precision-cut tempered glass with alignment trays, ultrasonic-fingerprint-compatible adhesives and UV-cured edge bonding — and the buying advice has had to change with it.

The manufacturing side is what informs the advice here. Specifying protectors for a customer means dealing with tolerances, adhesive chemistry, oleophobic coating grades and the reasons cutouts end up half a millimetre out — the details that decide whether a protector lifts at the corner after a fortnight, and which a listing will never tell you.
The site is run from the UK for UK buyers. Where we're uncertain about a specification we say so on the page rather than publish a figure we can't stand behind, and where our judgement is editorial rather than measured, we present it as judgement.
