Privacy policy

Short, because we collect very little.

This site does not require an account, does not ask for your personal details, and does not run its own advertising network.

When you click through to Amazon, Amazon sets its own cookies to attribute the referral to us. That is how the affiliate programme works, and it is governed by Amazon's own privacy notice not ours. We receive aggregate reporting from Amazon, numbers of clicks and orders — and never the identity of the person who made a purchase.

We keep our own visit statistics instead of using a third-party analytics service, and they are designed so that we never hold information identifying you. We do not store IP addresses. Your address is combined with a secret that changes daily and converted into a one-way hash, enough for us to count how many separate people visited on a given day, and impossible to link back to you or to recognise you tomorrow.

What we record for each visit is: the page, the page title, the site that referred you, your device type (mobile, tablet or desktop) and your country where our host provides it. We also record when someone clicks through to Amazon, and which product. None of this is shared with anyone, sold, or combined with data from elsewhere, and records are deleted automatically after around 13 months.

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address as part of serving that request. If you would prefer to avoid this, most browsers and content blockers can be configured to block it; the site remains fully usable.
