Power Banks
A 20,000mAh power bank doesn't deliver 20,000mAh to your phone. Conversion losses between the internal cells and the output take roughly a third, so expect around two-thirds of the printed figure in practice. Output wattage matters more than capacity for anything larger than a phone.
A 10,000mAh unit is two phone charges and pockets easily. USB-C PD models can charge a laptop. Pass-through charging means one wall socket at night.
Real delivered capacity is about two-thirds of the label. Heavy — 20,000mAh is roughly 350g. Airline rules cap you at 100Wh, about 27,000mAh.
10,000mAh suits a day out, 20,000mAh a weekend, and anything larger is usually a laptop decision. For a laptop check the output wattage, not the capacity, many large banks still cap at 18W, which won't charge a MacBook while you use it. Keep it in hand luggage; airlines forbid these in the hold.
