Wall Chargers
Gallium nitride switching lets a charger run cooler and smaller than the silicon designs it replaced, so a 65W GaN brick is roughly the size of the old 20W one. Phones ship without a charger now, which means this is a purchase almost everyone has to make, and the sizing question is simple once you know the rule.
GaN is dramatically smaller for the same output. Multi-port models replace several bricks. Good ones carry proper UK safety marking.
Total wattage is shared across ports, not per port. Very cheap chargers skip safety certification. Folding pins add bulk but survive a bag better.
Buy for your largest device: 30W handles any phone, 65W covers most laptops, 100W+ for a 16-inch MacBook Pro. On multi-port chargers check what each port delivers when they're all in use. A "65W" charger may give 45W and 20W split, not 65W each. Insist on a UKCA or CE mark.
